The obverse face beholds the profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

While the reverse boasts a red kangaroo mid-bound in front a stylised star burst, designed by Dr. Stuart Devlin. This reverse side of the Kangaroo 1oz coin also features the 2023 year-date, purity, and an authentication feature. The authentication and anti-counterfeiting feature includes a small micro-engraved letter “A”in the last A of AUSTRALIAN which is only visible under magnification, serving to ensure the coin’s value, purity and authenticity. There is also a “P” mint mark for the Perth Mint.
